Sago rice, is transliterated by sagu. In some places it is also called "real pearl powder" or "pearl rice". It is a kind of "sago" (short for "simi pearl"). In the old days, Nanyang (now is Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia) was made from sago starch, while Ganjiang was made from sweet potato starch and potato starch.
